Section for Students with Hearing Impairment (UKG to Class XII)
The Hearing Impairment Section at Abhilasha Vishesh Vidyalaya (AVV) has witnessed commendable progress over the past few years. In year 2024-25, 232 students were enrolled across UKG to Class XII. Academic achievement and holistic development remained at the core of all our initiatives. We are proud to report a 100% success in Board results in Classes VIII, X, and XII, reflecting the effectiveness of our teaching strategies and the commitment of both students and educators.
A team of dedicated RCI-certified Special Educators, along with trained support staff, continues to provide an inclusive and nurturing environment tailored to meet the unique learning needs of our students.
Upcoming Festival
True to our belief in holistic education, students at Abhilasha Vishesh Vidyalaya actively engage in a variety of academic, cultural, and recreational activities throughout the year. They participated in events such as the Run4Autism, Origami Workshop, ISRO Exhibition visit, and Disability Week celebrations, which enriched their learning experiences and fostered creativity, awareness and teamwork. Sessions on health and hygiene, career counseling, and safe and unsafe touch helped promote life skills and personal development. Participation in the Udaipur Tales International Storytelling Festival and Environment Film Festival offered students exposure beyond the classroom. Regular parent-teacher meetings and community engagement initiatives further strengthened the collaborative support system, enhancing student growth and well-being.
Abhilasha Hostel : A Home Away from Home
In addition to the academic facilities, Abhilasha Hostel provides residential support to 75 boys from Kindergarten to Class VIII. Located close to the school campus, the hostel ensures a safe, structured, and supportive environment for young learners.
The hostel is funded by the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of Rajasthan through an annual grant. Beyond accommodation, the hostel emphasizes routine, discipline, recreation, and social-emotional development under the care of trained staff.
Students residing in the hostel participated enthusiastically in several school programs, including the Annual Function, Republic Day Celebrations, Marathon Events, and various recreational outings.
Intellectual Disabilities
This section is dedicated to students with Intellectual Disabilities, currently serves 30 children with diverse neurological challenges. Our program is built on the foundation of Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs) and adaptive learning strategies, tailored to meet each student’s unique needs. Through structured support and differentiated instruction. Students develop skills in academics, critical thinking, and creative expression at their own pace.
To promote independence and life skills, students receive training in basic cooking and hygiene in a fully equipped kitchen, along with regular computer literacy classes.A wide range of art and craft activities are integrated into the curriculum to boost fine motor skills, creativity, and self-expression. These activities not only nurture their artistic talents but also contribute to their emotional well-being.
Students actively participate in disability awareness campaigns, promoting inclusion and advocating for their rights in the larger community. They are also regularly taken for educational and recreational visits to places such as Gulab Bagh, Fateh Sagar Lake, Saheliyon Ki Bari, and Divya Kala Mela. These outings offer real-world learning experiences, social interaction, and cultural exposure.
We strongly believe that parental involvement is key to a child’s progress. Regular parent-teacher meetings, collaborative support planning, and continuous communication ensure that families remain active partners in the educational journey of their children.
Psychological Department
The Psychological Department at Abhilasha Vishesh Vidyalaya is a vital pillar supporting student development, emotional well-being, and career readiness. In the academic year 2024–25. The team conducted 280 psychological assessments using standardized tools such as:
These assessments helped identify each student’s intellectual and developmental level, ensuring a tailored approach to teaching and learning.
In addition to assessments, the department held over 120 counseling sessions with students and parents. These sessions focused on emotional regulation, behavioral guidance, and strengthening family support systems, creating a positive, inclusive environment for every child.
The career reports recommended three personalized career options per student, and guidance was provided to both students and their parents, supporting informed academic and vocational decision-making.
Audiology Unit and Language Development
(Supported by RSMM Ltd)
- Speech and Hearing Assessment : Abhilasha Vishesh Vidyalaya (AVV) has a well-established Speech and Hearing Assessment Unit equipped with the latest technology to assess hearing loss in students. RCI-certified audiologists and speech therapist regularly evaluate each student to determine the degree and type of hearing loss.
The assessment results are used to guide teachers in planning appropriate classroom strategies and individualized support for students. To ensure a well-rounded approach, parent counseling sessions are also organized to educate families about the importance of early intervention, speech training, and regular hearing evaluations.
Language Lab : AVV has developed an advanced Language Lab to enhance communication and language development among deaf students. The lab is equipped with modern video recording and editing equipment, enabling students to create customized learning materials.
Deaf students at AVV take an active role in developing simplified video lessons aligned with the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE) curriculum. These visual resources make classroom learning more accessible, inclusive, and student-centered. The lab also fosters digital literacy, peer collaboration, and a sense of ownership over their education.
Sports Activities
Abhilasha Vishesh Vidyalaya continues to prioritize the physical well-being and holistic development of its students through active participation in various sports and physical education programs.
Sports Infrastructure Development:
To encourage regular physical activity, an Indoor Sports Unit has been set up with equipment for various games and fitness activities. This facility provides an inclusive space for recreation and development.
Scout and Guide
Students took part in training camps that included practical sessions, community service, and teamwork-based activities. These experiences have played a crucial role in building their confidence and social skills. The results of the exams are awaited, and we are hopeful for positive outcomes.
Sports Achievements
This year, our students participated in sports competitions organized by the District Legal Services Authority, Udaipur, under the guidance of the Rajasthan State Legal Services Authority, Jaipur
Kabaddi : Our team secured 2nd place and received a cash prize of ₹2500.
Carrom : Khushwant Meena stood 1st and received ₹2000.
Long Jump : Kapil Meena claimed 1st place, winning ₹2000.
Additionally, Kapil Meena and Khushwant Meena were selected for the State-Level Chess Championship in Jaipur.
Kapil also secured 4th position in Long Jump at the state level.
Khushwant successfully cleared the first round of Carrom with excellent performance.
The winners were felicitated by Hon’ble Justice Pankaj Bhandari, Rajasthan High Court, Jaipur.
Internship Engagements at Abhilasha Vishesh Vidyalaya (AVV)
As part of our ongoing commitment to capacity building in the field of special education, Abhilasha Vishesh Vidyalaya (AVV) continues to serve as a model learning center for interns from diverse academic backgrounds. During the academic year 2024–25, AVV hosted multiple internship partners, offering hands-on exposure to inclusive education practices, disability support systems, and communication strategies tailored to children with hearing and intellectual impairments.
Darpan Auditorium Shilpgram, Udaipur
Abhilasha Vishesh Vidyalaya’s Annual Function 2024–25, titled "Sinhasan Battissi," was a remarkable cultural and theatrical presentation that showcased the creative abilities and confidence of our students with hearing and intellectual disabilities. The event was designed and directed by the Rainbow Society.
The play brought to life the legendary tales of King Vikramaditya’s valor and wisdom through captivating performances, expressive dance sequences, and vibrant storytelling. Over four months of rigorous training and rehearsals culminated in a truly mesmerizing theatrical

13th February 2025: A special show was organized exclusively for students of mainstream schools and colleges such as Vidya Bhawan B.Ed College, Wisdom B.Ed College, Minority Senior Secondary School, Government Senior Secondary School (Salumbar), Ryan International School, and Abhilasha Vishesh Vidyalaya. Parents and staff were also present in large numbers.

14th February 2025: The event was open to the public and witnessed a full house, with guests appreciating the students’ hard work, dedication, and artistic expression.
The grand evening on Feb 14th commenced with High Tea organized for the eminent guests, setting a gracious tone for the event. The function began with a soulful Ganesh Vandana, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and the formal release of the Souvenir. Esteemed members of the Executive Committee and distinguished invitees graced the occasion with their presence and expressed heartfelt appreciation for the students’ talent, discipline, and the spirit of inclusion that reflected throughout the program.
Innovative Rehearsal Strategies for "SinhasanBattissi"
To ensure that SinhasanBattissi was not just a performance but an immersive learning experience, Abhilasha Vishesh Vidyalaya adopted innovative, inclusive, and sensory-friendly rehearsal methods. These practices focused on visual aids, rhythmic awareness, emotional understanding, and hands-on creativity, tailored to meet the unique needs of students with hearing and intellectual disabilities.

Stage Visualization: A miniature stage model helped students understand character placement, movement, and scene transitions.

Role Understanding: The story was narrated to explain roles and emotions, enhancing performance depth.

Sound & Rhythm: Instruments like the Chand, cycle bell, and shankh were used to develop rhythm awareness. A decibel meter offered visual feedback to improve sound perception and self-regulation.

Prop Making: Students created props, fostering creativity, motor skills, and ownership of the event.

Emotional Expression through Light: Colored lighting (red, blue, yellow, etc.) was used to teach students how colors convey emotions on stage.

Synchronization Techniques: Visual cues, clapping, and audiograp h synchronization supported coordinated movements and timing.

- A Shramdaan (Community Service) activity was organized at the backyard of the Sajjan Nagar Police Post involving 30 students.

- Dental screening was arranged for all students at AVV by Bansal Orthodontic Centre and Dental Clinic
- A Hearing Aids Guidance and Counselling Session was organized by Dr. Gaurav, RCI certificed Audiologist and Speech Therapist at AVV for concerned students and parents.
- 25 students participated in Surya Namaskar on the occasion of Surya Saptami.

Summer Camp
At the same premises we organize Summer Camp for children between the age 2 to 16 years from 20th May to 14th June 2024 – 9 am to 1 pm.
Students from other Schools can also participate.
It provides facilities like Dance, Painting, English Conversation, Handwriting improvement, Craft, Casio, Guitar, Skating, Karate, Snack time, Calligraphy, Fabric & Glass painting, Theater Workshop, Play Group etc (to name a few).
Children have option to join any of these activities.
